How Much is 5% Lower Energy Bill Worth to You?
Rising prices and insecure supply has made energy to one of the most critical means of production in today's business environment and the ongoing climate change has put energy and energy efficiency on top of the agenda for years to come. ADF is the tool to ensure ideal electrical power conditions, save energy and become a good citizen. Imagine which impact 5% lower energy consumption has on your company and competitiveness.
How Much Can be Saved?
In most applications 2% - 5% active power can be saved by letting ADF optimize the energy flow, i.e. your energy bill will be reduced by this percentage. During favourable conditions, the savings potential has been proven to exceed 10%, see for example the Tetra Pak case study. On top of the reduced energy costs, additional cost savings, including eliminated charges for reactive power and reduced maintenance costs, often add up to about 20% lower energy related costs.
Where is the Potential?
The energy savings potential is unique for each combination of load profile, the general power conditions, and the load operating hours. In general, the greatest power saving potential is to be found in installations with:
|
The best cases of energy savings are found where several of the factors above are present simultaneously. Naturally, process industries, data centres, utilities and other applications with extensive operating hours can expect substantial energy savings.
Assess the Potential in Your Facility
The best way to get a precise estimation of the savings potential is to perform an energy analysis. Find out how to get started with your own energy analysis. The analysis gives you a detailed overview of the current power conditions in your facility, depicts energy savings potential, and informs you about potential harmful electrical behaviours and their solution.
How Does ADF Save Energy?
ADF lowers the power consumption by removing unnecessary losses and by improving load efficiency. ADF ensures that only the active power necessary to feed the loads is supplied by the network. Less power supplied translates into less power losses and thereby lower energy cost.
By eliminating the undesired electrical behaviours, the ADF increases and stabilizes supply voltage. This provides the load ideal operating conditions, less electrical current is drawn and the load efficiency improves. Learn more in the ADF technology section.
